"UFO (unfinished objects) Class"

This is an advanced doll making class for those students familiar with doll-making techniques. The Mermaid incorporates all of the methods needed including the fantasy fabric for her tail. There is definitely homework required to complete this doll!
Fantasy Fabrics
As many of you know, I make a lot of my own fabrics for the doll bodies and my purses, doing a sort of collage/fantasy/applique kind of technique. Jokingly, it has been deemed fabric "flumping".... you know, you just kind of "flump" the fabric pieces down to make whatever design comes to mind!
"Pansy" a long-legged Decoupage doll
Do any of you remember decoupage? Way back in the 70's? (oooops, I'm giving away my age!!!) I couldn't get enough stuff to decoupage....... Recently, on a shopping trip I found some pretty paper napkins and they sparked a memory of decoupage - ah, but what do I do with them - I make dolls! tadah! So I designed a new doll to show off these lovely napkins!
I like to call this class my "CSI" experience!! Whatever you're having troubles with, whether it be making a cool set of fingers or toes, properly joining arms and legs to the body, or getting the right proportions for the head, this is the class for you. Or maybe you just have a bunch of body parts that you can't seem to get any use out of .... if so, let me help you make something new and unique!
Sewnya Pin Cushion Doll
This beginning class features my "Sewnya, a Pin Cushion" pattern, an easy-to-follow, easy-to-make 6" stump doll. This doll can be used as a pin cushion, a paper weight or just a little shelf sitter. There is a bit of homework to prepare for the class and you should be able to leave with your doll completed!
Doll Faces
In this session we will be working on a couple of faces - a flat face as well as a dimensional face. We'll be doing face painting and we'll do some needle sculpting. We'll also add eyelids and real eyelashes to our lovelies. There will be a kit for the class that includes a couple of faces to make & stuff and sculpt. There will be a couple of things for you to bring to class and you can bring along your own paints and crayons, but rather than buying a lot of new products you can play with my stuff to see what you like. There will be patterns available in my Patterns link for you to make dolls to wear your completed faces
"Sleek Chic"
For intermediate to advanced doll makers ..... We will continue to develop additional techniques with "Sleek Chic", to include a eyelids and eyelashes, articulated fingers with long nails, a lovely costume on a simple body with a cool hidden pocket that allows your doll to stand tall.
It is recommended that you have some prior doll making experience before taking this session.
I do provide private classes for those who are looking for a specialized technique or who prefer the "one-on-one" experience. In a private session, we can concentrate exclusively on your personal needs and the classes will be tailored to meet your goals.
