A professional fabric & doll artist, designer and instructor, Bunny Goode has been active in the art community for over 40 years. Self taught, Bunny began working with fabrics and color matching as a young girl while making her own clothes. Her life-long obsession with fabric lead her in many directions and the most rewarding has been her fabric embellishment art, doll designing, doll making and teaching others.
Bunny has been featured in magazines, galleries and exhibits world-wide and many pieces have found their way to private collections. She is a regular guest lecturer along the eastern seaboard, speaking and demonstrating art doll & fabric art techniques at many of the doll clubs and quilt guilds. She is the co-founder of a major doll club in New Jersey which continues to flourish with someone else at the helm. She is also a member of several quilt guilds and has a very active presence in the quilting world.
Humor and a flamboyant style best describe the dolls created by Bunny. Her designs depict the characters and personalities that surround us in our daily lives (some more “interesting” than others) and it’s those very recognizable traits that draw so many people to her art dolls. Not an exhibition, show or demonstration goes by where people don’t say “That looks just like … Aunt Gertie”, speaking to the huge appeal of her work.
Bunny has designed patterns for many of her dolls and her patterns are available through various distributors and internet outlets, as well as on her web site. All of her designs are original and the patterns are written to be usable to a broad range of beginner to advanced doll makers. Particularly interesting is the clarity of the pattern instructions, which puts the user at ease and allows for a truly enjoyable doll making experience. Bunny is currently working on a series of e-patterns to more easily distribute her work to the doll making public.
Bunny’s work can be seen in numerous magazines and on-line sites, including her own web site. Bunny resides in Monroe Township, NJ with her husband and two four-legged staff members, who graciously drag her fabric scraps throughout the house!
..... and a little bit more about me!
My imagination has produced an array of different designs and styles, but every time I leave my studio and go out into the real world new inspirations loom …. Actually, some of my friends have told me that they are afraid that if they spend too much time with me they might end up immortalized in cotton and polyester!
I have been very fortunate to have had the opportunity to teach, study and travel throughout the
My husband of 29 years (sheesh, has it really been THAT long??) is Ed, who many of you may have met at the assorted shows, classes and other events over the years. Our little four-legged girls are Morgan, an 8 year old Shih Tzu and Madison, a 1 year old Shih Tzu, who are the love of our lives and the biggest pain in the “you-know-what” of our lives! They're really wonderful dogs (shhhh, don’t tell them they're dogs!) and we love 'em to pieces!
